Frade Arquitectos will design the new Museum of Islamic Art in Fez which will host the largest collection of historical arts and crafts in Morocco. Located at the western edge of Fes el-Bali, the old medina quarter of the city, the palace was commissioned by the Alaouite Sultan Hassan I in the late 19th century to serve as a summer residence for distinguished visitors and guests. The new exhibition will protect the historical and artistic value of the monument, establishing a flowing dialogue between heritage and contemporary museography.
